Magical Beginnings Peabody Academy

At Magical Beginnings, we know that every child is special. We are sensitive to their social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. We encourage children to explore and express their creativity to help strengthen their positive self-image. Here, play is an essential part of the learning process. Children will learn to interact with each other and learn to share, take turns and cooperate through play. Play and learning are inseparable companions.

Program Overview

At Magical Beginnings Inc. we encourage children to explore and express their creativity to help foster an environment where they can have fun while also developing at the proper milestones. Children will interact with each other while learning to share, take turns, and cooperate through play. Our goal is to provide childcare where parents feel comfortable leaving their children and to encourage parents to be involved in their child’s day.

Toddlers and preschool children bring in everything they need for a successful morning/afternoon snack, lunch, and drinks in an insulated lunchbox with an ice pack. Families provide all necessary food and bottles for infants. All of our centers are Nut Free which means that no food items may contain traces of nuts; be processed on the same equipment as nuts or in the same factory as food that contains nuts. Please remember to check all labels as any food that is questionable will be sent home for everyone’s safety.

Our infant classrooms incorporate music and movement, reading and sensory play throughout each child’s day. Infants are all unique and each on his or her own schedule. Our teachers follow the individual schedule for each infant as it has been written by the child’s parent/guardian. As infants get older and closer to toddler age our teachers will work with parents/guardians to prepare for the transition to the toddler program.

Our toddler and preschool programs utilize a multi-age approach which allows our students to learn from their older peers while also serving as role model students and teachers to their younger peers. This approach also allows us to minimize the number of classroom changes for the children and enables them to build strong relationships with the other children in their classroom who are younger and older than them. Semi-annual assessments are completed on all toddlers and preschool students. Our teachers also utilize Class Dojo, a parent communications app to share lesson plans, monthly newsletters, photos, and daily logs of the childrens’ activities.

Our preschool classes also utilize Handwriting Without Tears to strengthen fine motor skills and teach pre-writing skills. Through a variety of hands on learning activities children learn upper and lower case letters using a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed to address all learning types.
