All aboard! The weekend is rolling in and so are a ton of great activities! Take your little conductors to a special Lego train exhibit, be on the lookout for bald eagles, and of course party the night away for Valentine’s Day! Read on for a full list of must do activities in the area!

Friday

Valentine’s Day Kids Night Out

Room to Bloom, 81 Bridge St., Beverly, 5 pm-8 pm, ages 0-6

Drop your little loves off to play, paint heart pictures on canvas, explore a special Valentine’s Day sensory bin, and eat pizza—all while you get a few hours to celebrate the holiday with some adult time out! Advanced reservations are required.

Valentine’s Day Family Movie Night: Gnomeo and Juliet

Performing Arts Center, Ipswich High School, 134 High St., Ipswich, 7 pm-9 pm

Celebrate love day by catching a flick as a family. This is a fundraiser for the Ipswich Middle School with suggested donation of $5. There will also be snacks and a raffle. The movie starts at 7 pm, but doors open at 6:15 pm, so get there a little early to grab a good seat!

Valentine’s Day Family Dance Party

Riverwalk Brewery, 40 Parker St., Newburyport, 5 pm-8 pm

The brewery invites you to skip the sitters and overpriced restaurants and celebrate as a family. The kids will enjoy a pizza buffet, crafts, dancing and a photo booth! Parents—you get to of course enjoy a beer or two and tasty apps and desserts.

Saturday

Merrimack River Eagle Festival

Various locations in Newburyport, 9 am-4 pm

Newburyport welcomes back bald eagles each year with this festival. Along with special eagle spotting locations, there are also live animals and kids crafts at both Joppa Flats and Parker River Wildlife Refugee and animal demonstrations at City Hall. Annual Lego Train Show

Wenham Museum, 132 Main St., Wenham, Sat. & Sun., 10 am-4 pm

Each year the museum brings these colorful brick trains to town just for one weekend, so don’t miss it! Come see a rainbow colored, L-gauge model train speeding along a brick track as it races by soaring skyscrapers, country cottages, mountainside ski slopes and much more. All features are designed with the highest degree of precision by the New England Lego Users Group.

Superhero & Sidekick Party

Marblehead Parenting &Tots Club, 40 Tioga Way, Marblehead, 4 pm-6 pm

Calling all superheroes! Sign up for this SUPER party filled with activities, crafts, a photo booth, entertainment & pizza! Dressing up is encouraged so put on your capes—parents too, after all you are the real superheroes!

New England Boat Show

Boston Convention Center, 415 Summer St., Boston, Saturday 10 am-8 pm, Sunday 10 am-6 pm

You don’t need to be in the market for a boat to have fun at this show. Kids can run up and down the isles of this huge show and hop on and off boats. Along with all the booths there’s interactive fun too! Kids can get creative and build their own boats at a crafting station and even hop on paddle boats and cruise a mini lake. This is the last weekend of the show.

Sunday

National Engineering Week

Boston Children’s Museum, 308 Congress St., Boston, 11 am-4 pm

What kid doesn’t like to use stuff to build stuff that does stuff?! That’s what Engineering Week is all about at the Children’s Museum. Sunday kicks off a week long celebration filled with daily activities like designing a marble maze and a lego zipline challenge.
