Much like everything in 2020, Thanksgiving is shaping up to be different this year. If the idea of cooking a big meal is not how you want to celebrate, we’ve got great news! Many local restaurants are offering delicious meals to go and socially distanced dine-in options.

Make sure to book your reservations or place your turkey to-go orders as early as possible—these meals are sure to sell out.

Make reservations to dine in at Davio’s—they will be serving up a full Thanksgiving menu or place an order by November 24th to take your turkey dinner and all the trimmings home to eat.

The restaurant will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but you can place an order for pick up on Wednesday. Hart House has a full al la cart Thanksgiving menu—choose your proteins, sides, and desserts. All orders must be placed by November 19th.

The restaurant at Briar Inn is accepting limited reservations for Thanksgiving Day. Not comfortable eating on-site? Grove will also be offering takeout day off. Briar Inn’s sister property Willowdale Estate in Topsfield will be taking pre-ordered Thanksgiving dinners, sides, and desserts through November 13th.

A full Thanksgiving takeout will be made available to order online in coming days. Follow on Facebook for updates!

The restaurant is taking online orders for a customizable Thanksgiving box that serves 4-6 people. Orders can be picked up on the Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

The yacht club is trading it’s traditional buffet style Thanksgiving meal for a dine in plated option. Reservations are required. If you prefer, they will also be offering a pre-ordered meal to go option you can pick up the Wednesday before.

Place an order by November 16th at this restaurant for a complete turkey dinner to go or choose to go a la cart with your meal, sides, desserts and even drinks. Along with dinner, Brine will also include a game for your family to play!

While they are closed on Thanksgiving Day, you can place an order to pick up a whole cooked turkey or an entire turkey dinner complete with sides on the Wednesday before. Make sure to place your order early as they have limited quantities.

Many families have created small pods or corona circles so that their kids can still play with a few friends they trust. Now local businesses are offering up experiences designed specifically for these groups. Read on for five classes that you can privately book—some even come to you!

Soccer Shots—North Shore

Soccer Shots has launched a neighborhood program along with their regular classes. Families can sign up to host a private group in a yard or community space and Soccer Shots will come to you. Same great curriculum, same great professional coaches

Ace Gymnastics—Ipswich
Ace is up and running with lots of safety protocols but they are also now offering pod classes designated for children who have quarantined together or are in your comfort zone. Reach out directly for details

Burkes Gym—Swampscott
Burkes is now offering a “create your own pod class” along with their regular gymnastics classes. You must have a minimum of 6 kids and no more than 10. If you don’t meet the minimum number of students, you can also check out private and virtual options.

Art’s Cool—Middleton

Along with studio and Zoom classes, Art’s Cool is also offering a special program, Henri (Matisse) Home’s Cooler. If you have a pod of three or more kids doing remote learning, you can create a private class in their studio just for your group.

Here Comes the Sun—Lynnfield

Here Comes the Sun offers a variety of classes for kids, many of them outside. But if you would prefer to keep your yoga moves to just your pod you can message them and set up a private class in your backyard.

Tomorrow is National Lemonade Day! While setting up a traditional lemonade stand with your little entrepreneurs is a no-go, you can still celebrate the day selling sweet and refreshing drinks to your friends, neighbors, and family—COVID style.

Mixing up a big pitcher of lemonade and pouring out cups to customers may not be an option, but you can create a Lemonade To-Go Stand instead! Get creative and bag up a bottle of water and an individual lemonade mix and leave out a jar for payment.

Get creative and add in fun extras like a straw, cup, or tasty treat to pair with your drink.

Spread the word about your stand and hang back and thank everyone from a safe social distance!

This school year is looking very different, which means back to school shopping is too! Along with all the regular essential supplies, we’ve rounded up some must-have products for the “new normal”.

Keep clean and make it fun! Shop Etsy to pick out some personalized mask and hand sanitizer cases.

Speaking of hand sanitizers…this super cool wrist band called the Halo Sani Cuff makes sure your kids always have a squirt nearby while they’re learning and playing!

When kids take their masks off for a break they may be unsure of what to do with them. Add this product to your back to school list to solve that problem! These lanyards come in a variety of colors and they are personalized!

Keeping kids’ hands away from their faces as much as possible is key to keeping them healthy. Invest in fun headbands, scrunchies, and clips to make pulling up your child’s hair fun! You can even invest in a monthly subscription like this one from Little Poppy to keep things fresh and exciting.

Put a name on it! Make sure your child’s stuff stays with them and label everything! Mabel’s Labels has a product to put your child’s name on just about anything.
